BSP is celebrating the presentation of awards to two schemes the company has recently been involved in.

Both Birkett House SEN School in Leicestershire and a Rural Housing Exception Scheme at Brant Broughton in Lincolnshire won accolades at the East Midlands fbe Awards 2017.

The £10 million school for children with special needs, built at Wigston in Leicestershire, was the winner of the Non-Residential category.

BSP was civil and structural engineer for the project, and also provided pre-planning services, including flood risk assessment and traffic and transport expertise for the Leicestershire County Council development.

BSP jointly nominated the project for the fbe award with contractor Willmott Dixon.

“Birkett House School is a first-class scheme that BSP Consulting was proud to have played a key role in from the early days through to completion,” said BSP Consulting business development director Jef Todd.

“We are thrilled that the development has been judged by our peers in the East Midlands construction sector as a project that stands out and is award-winning.”

The school, designed by A+G Architects, features a hydrotherapy pool, sensory and interactive rooms, and can cater for 175 pupils aged four to 19.

In addition, BSP was part of the development team for the housing project in Brant Broughton, Lincolnshire, nominated by Halsall Lloyd Partnership, which took the Residential Award.

The schemes were presented with the accolades at the annual East Midlands fbe Chairman’s Dinner and Awards Ceremony at the City Rooms in Leicester, which attracted around 130 professionals from the region’s property, development and construction sector.
