Civil Engineering design.
|
| Technical Features:
|
Working within a PFI project team BSP completed the Civil Engineering design for a 3.4ha development providing a facility to sort, process and treat household waste.
Due to poor ground conditions and high water table cement stabilisation of the subgrade was undertaken. Producing excellent results the stabilisation allowed for both a superb construction platform and greatly reduced the construction depths across site. An earthworks balancing exercise was undertaken as part of this design.
A number of green technologies such as rain water harvesting and a SuDS surface water attenuation scheme were incorporated into the designs.
A bespoke kerb drainage system was designed to allow the use of these products adjacent to an area of Great Crested Newt habitat.
