Delight as community scheme involving BSP is shortlisted in RICS Awards

Get Busy Living Centre
February 21, 2018

The BSP team is pleased and proud to hear that the Get Busy Living Centre, near Melton Mowbray, has been named as a finalist in the Community Benefit category of the RICS Awards, East Midlands.

BSP Consulting was one of a number of companies and organisations, many of which offered their time, services, materials and expertise for free, involved in creating the £1 million rehabilitation centre, designed to help those who have suffered catastrophic sporting injuries.

The scheme was spearheaded by the Matt Hampson Foundation. Former rugby player Matt Hampson, who suffered a life-changing accident during a training session in 2005, set up the foundation to offer support and assistance to those who have had similar life-changing events and he was the driving force behind the new facility, which opened in December 2017.

It was built by construction company Willmott Dixon at Burrough Court Estate and involved creating a steel-frame on the original footprint of a former aircraft hangar. It will be a home for injured athletes where they can spend time with their families and build relationships with others in similar situations as well as offering services such as physical rehabilitation.

Now the state-of-the-art facility has been named as a finalist in the regional RICS Awards, with the ceremony due to take place on 3rd May at Nottingham Belfry.
