BSP has been involved extensively in the Primary Health Care and Specialist Care sector for over 15 years, delivering medical centres, care homes and specialist care provision including dementia care. The procurement methods have varied; from turnkey 3PD model for developers to direct appointments by care home operators and main contractors-led solutions.
The HAPPI report and Care Quality Commission have been the driving forces in recent years to improve service standards in healthcare and BSP has embraced this knowledge to inform their consulting engineer design input on projects… many of which have been constructed to high level BREEAM.
The recent changes from the PCT-led approach to the new NHS Property Services Ltd and Clinical Commissioning Groups model are understood by BSP and we will be working with our health clients to meet the challenges of these new structures over the next few years.
Using Building Information Modelling (BIM) we are able to deliver better buildings, more quickly and at a lower cost than the traditional building process. Effective BIM implementation helps avoid design alterations, reducing risk and time re-working the scheme. It provides a time-saving solution during which we have now established a REVIT drawing system which includes templates, standard details and drawing protocols. Modelling is carried out to the level of detail required to produce accurate plans and elevations at the defined scale, and specifications as required.
