Structural Engineering

BSP believe that the quality of service provided by a consultancy is dependent on the experience of the staff they employ, and it is our aim for all our engineers to be chartered members of The Institution of Civil or Structural Engineers. This philosophy is led by the directors of BSP, who are all chartered engineers and are very much 'hands on'.

The engineers are supported by a team of technicians with many years of experience in the detailing of steel framed, reinforced concrete and traditional buildings.

BSP aim to get involved during the early stages of projects, assisting clients in the 'due diligence' stage of schemes, and helping achieve the cost certainty that is critical to developers by minimising the risk items within a project.

Optimisation of design is critical for 'design and build' projects. Many of the senior staff at BSP have worked directly for contractors during their careers. This experience is crucial in helping to achieve optimum design solutions, especially in terms of buildability and economy. We also work directly for various steel fabricators, and this insight helps us to maintain a competitive edge in the design of steel frames.
